Ann Hilary Griffiths

 

I am an artist and illustrator with a particular interest in paper collage illustrations, sometimes screen printed, and in the creation of artists' books. My trademark colours are red and black and the designs are made with scissors, sometimes a scalpel, and minimised for maximum impact. I am particularly inspired by classic texts and have recently made images for 'Alice In Wonderland' and 'Brave New World', as well as illustrating twelve fables by Aesop and rewriting the text as light-hearted verses. My fine art work is also characterised by an interest in contrasting flat forms and colours, often involving these with three-dimensional textures.
